Medtronic Engages BI Consulting Group For The Most Elaborate Customization of OBIEE To Date
Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology, has successfully implemented BI Consulting Group’s “IDENTITY” branding service. The effort focused on the creation of a seamless transition between the the company website and Medtronic's instance of Oracle Business Intelligence. The two week implementation included a complete overhaul of the OBIEE look and feel, embedding Medtronic’s logos and standard color schemes throughout the software. Every detail of OBIEE was touched in the most elaborate customization of the business intelligence tool to date.
Immediate benefits were realized after the customized version of OBIEE was rolled out to the user population. Management has witnessed an increase in user adoption when the branded version is introduced to new departments, as opposed to the original “out of the box” style. New users can easily relate to the business intelligence tool as an extension of the company’s website, intranet, marketing materials, portals, and other custom software packages. The branded familiarity reduces the stress and intimidation often encountered when learning a new system.

About Medtronic
Medtronic was founded in 1949 as a medical equipment repair shop by Earl Bakken and his brother-in-law, Palmer Hermundslie. Since then, they've grown into a multinational company that uses technology to transform the way debilitating, chronic diseases are treated. Their first life-changing therapy – a wearable, battery-powered cardiac pacemaker – was the foundation for dozens more Medtronic therapies that use electrical stimulation expertise to improve the lives of millions of people. Over the years, they have adapted additional technologies for the human body, including radio frequency therapies, mechanical devices, drug and biologic delivery devices, and diagnostic tools. Today, their technologies are used to treat more than 30 chronic diseases affecting many areas of the body. For more information, please visit www.medtronic.com.
