The instructor facilitized the course very well. She seemed to get to know the group and their needs/experience. She anticipated questions that probably should have been asked and was well prepared for those that were asked. For any unanswered questions (there may have been only one or two —though they seemed outside the scope of the course, anyway), she offered information, comment and honest response. She made the course comfortable and enjoyable while presenting the material very effectively. To ask questions, we simply had to type the question in chat (if not verbally stated). The instructor made the call of when to respond by private chat or share the information that may be valuable to the entire class (this is an assumption since I asked a question that was replied directly to me privatly, and there were others that must have been entered in chat windows that were shared with the class) … this was done seamlessly and very well.
I was skeptical about an on-line course for this subject… i didn’t anticipate how it could be done effectively. Using go-to-meeting was a great tool of choice, the instructor was able to show the materials and examples clearly. Each participant was seeing the same thing and participants could be offered control of the screen so that everyone could see where the trouble spots may be, which benefited everyone in the solution. I liked the group size of the course. Too few people and there wouldn’t be enough variety of participants and too many may lead to longer time required for everyone to catch up and assistance to be given to individuals who may need it.
